Home Insurance in the UK
Home insurance lately has gone up in conjunction with the rise in house prices. This makes finding affordable, cheap insurance very difficult. It has also not been helped much with the amount of fraudulent claims of late and the fact that the companies have seemed to have cottoned on to the fact that most people now know about things such as people assuming they can claim up to once every two years.
Cheap home insurance is freely available online now and in some if not most cases there are discounts available for people who fill out their insurance forms online. There are a variety of differences in the quotes as well as the usual difference in price. Some companies expect you to pay up to £350 excess where others ask for as little as £100. In the following pages we will discuss some of these and include such things as the excess and cover.
We have also recieved quotes for our home and included a rough guide on the quotes we had. All of these home insurance quotes include contents insurance and while we tried to get exactly the same information to each site some of them didn't have exactly the same options, for eg. 1st Quote didn't have the option of £100 excess, theirs was £350 excess. Also please remember that even if one site had a cheaper quote for home owners insurance it doesn't mean the others wouldn't be cheaper for you.
Please remember also that this is for UK home insurance, prices abroad could well be different. The sites we weill look at first are Churchill, Direct Line, 1st Quote, Cover Direct and Kwik Fit. There are many more out there but these are some of the cheapest and I currently use Kwik Fit as they were around £40 cheaper than anyone else. Also there are some good comparison sites available. I currently run a small example of these on one of my other sites that you can reach by clicking on the LINKS button.
